Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing. – (1 Thessalonians 5:11, NIV)
So encourage each other and help each other grow stronger in faith, just as you are already doing. – (1 Thessalonians 5:11, ERV)
So support one another. Keep building each other up as you have been doing. – (1 Thessalonians 5:11, VOICE)
Our charge to encourage, support, and build each other up applies to all of the relationships that He has given us. This may look a little different for each individual, but the call remains the same. Right now, support for my spouse is exhibited in a day off to be his ride to and from a medical procedure. (Routine preventative measure) Other times, supporting one another is through appreciating intentional acts of kindness and service that help keep our home in order. With friends, this may be a quick text when they come to mind, or a phone call to a family member when we have not spoken in a while. Every communication is an opportunity to support, encourage, and build another up. For me, when I am the recipient of such things, my faith grows further, for it feels as if God set such extensions of Himself in motion. He places people on our heart for a reason, and when we respond, He moves through our encouragement and support to build others up. May we ever seek the Lord to lead us well in every relationship, and listen to His leadings so that His heart is made known through our love.
Build up each other,
encourage in love;
support and challenge,
seek the Lord above.
For as we seek Him,
He makes the way plain;
to love others well,
and lift up His Name.
So, keep seeking God,
and trust in His ways;
He’ll lead us in love,
throughout all our days.
Dear Heavenly Father, thank You that You call and encourage us to support, strengthen, and build one another up. Thank You that as we do life together, we encourage each other’s faith to grow. Forgive us for the times that we have neglected to encourage those around us when we should have. Teach us to listen to Your leading and to be quick to extend a hand and heart to build those around us up. Lead us in Your love so that we too, may love well. May many come into a lasting relationship with You. Be glorified O God, as we listen to Your leading to encourage and build others up. Amen.

May the God who gives endurance and encouragement give you the same attitude of mind toward each other that Christ Jesus had, so that with one mind and one voice you may glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. – Romans 15:5
