Greater is He

“You dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the One who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world.” – I John 4:4

God, who has overcome all that would come against us, calls us His kids, granting us the authority to overcome anything that attempts to alter our assurance in Him.

Romans 8:37 reminds us that “in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.”  In fact, all of Romans eight reassures us of our role as we live our lives as His children of light.  Because His light lives in us, darkness cannot overshadow.  Where there is light, darkness dominates no more.

Though there is suffering and struggle that come against us, we need not fear, because He who is in us is far greater than all that attempts to come against us; and we know we will ultimately remain standing when our hope and rest are in Him.
Our hope and assurance are held in the hands of our Heavenly Father.  We are free as we find our faith in Him.  He loosens all that binds us, and makes way where there seems to be no way.
If our God is for us, who can come against us?  “For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” – Romans 8:38-39
Dear Heavenly Father, thank You that You who have overcome the world, chose to come close, die for us, dwell in us, and call us Your children.  Thank You that as Your kids, equipped and empowered by Your Spirit, we are capable of overcoming all of our opposition.  Teach us to take hold of the authority that we have in You, so that we may illuminate the darkness for what it is, and move mightily in love, so that Your will be done.  Let the light in us lead others to Your loving arms.  Amen.

    • Archana,
God is greater than any questions you need to ask! He is happy to hear your heart, and can take it when it is difficult to trust Him. The most important thing is to ask Him what you need to know, and be willing to wait before Him. He will show Himself to you in new and wonderful ways as You call out to Him, and are still and ready to listen. I pray that He continues to use your Mom and other strong believers surrounding you to be a source of encouragement and wisdom to help you again find footing in your faith. My prayers are with you as you continue to seek Him! God bless you today and always as you are already willing to be open and honest about where you are right now.
Love because He first loved us,
      Shannon
