Our Protection

The Lord will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore. – (Psalm 121:8, NIV)

The Lord will protect you as you come and go, both now and forever! – (Psalm 121:8, ERV)

He guards you when you leave and when you return, He guards you now, He guards you always. – (Psalm 121:8, MSG)

Yesterday, my husband and I drove from our home near Tacoma, Washington, to Reno, Nevada. The trip was 686 miles, and took us nearly twelve hours. God was with us and protected us, as we had an easy and uneventful drive in beautiful weather. We arrived at our destination by 4pm, and had time to spend a wonderful and relaxing evening with my Viking’s brother and wife. They are wonderful hosts and we had a great evening of laughter. Today, we will spend the day together, and continue to enjoy each other’s company and warm weather. Tomorrow, we will again make the long drive home, and will likely reach home late into the evening. God is so good, and I am so grateful for His protection and grace. May we ever seek the Lord to watch over us and protect us, and give Him thanks for His faithfulness.

The Lord is so good,

wherever we go;

He is beside us,

His protection flows.

His beauty surrounds,

His mercies are new;

God goes before us,

and sees our way through.

He leads us in grace,

shows us He is good;

and protects our path,

makes love understood.

Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for Your mercy and grace and protection. Thank You that You are faithful to lead us and guide us wherever we go. Thank You for the beauty of creation and the blessing of family. Forgive us for not praising You enough for Your ongoing protection. Teach us how to love those around us in ways that make Your goodness and protection known. May many come into a lasting relationship with You. Be glorified O God, as we thank and praise You for Your protection and grace throughout all our days. Amen.
