When Righteousness Reigns

The fruit of that righteousness will be peace; its effects will be quietness and confidence forever. – (Isaiah 32:17, NIV)

The fruit of righteousness will be peace, and the outcome of righteousness, calm and security forever. – (Isaiah 32:17, CEB)

Then righteousness will yield peace, and the quiet confidence that attend righteousness will be present forever. – (Isaiah 32:17, VOICE)

When we allow righteousness to reign, peace is plainly present. Our decision to live right, results in the calm comfort of Christ’s presence and confidence in knowing that He will lead, guide and provide as we seek Him. God is faithful forever and honors those who pursue His path and purposes for their lives by living right. May we seek our Savior to help us live right and recognize with praise, the fruit of His wonderful ways.

When we choose live right, The Endowment of Early Mornings

There’s peace within us;

Evidence of grace,

Granted by Jesus.

In such quietness,

There comes a sweet calm;

To soothe weary hearts,

Love’s great healing balm.

And what’s better still,

This good knows no end;

For God is faithful,

On Him, let’s depend.

Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for loving us to life, and leading us to live right. Forgive us for the times that we have neglected to walk in Your ways or love as You love us. Teach us to trust You more, as You are faithful forever and You provide all that we need to follow after You. Show us how to love in a way that brings peace where peace has not been present, and the quiet calm that comes through Your loving grace. May many come into a lasting relationship with You. Be glorified O God, as we run after righteousness and praise You for the peace that You provide. Amen.

The Lord loves righteousness and justice; the earth is full of His unfailing love. – Psalm 33:5

Live in Light

We were once lost in darkness,

now are lavished in His light;

therefore live as His children,

steer clear of the deeds of night.

Focus on the fruit of day,

full of good and truth and right;

expose the deeds of darkness,

get caught not in evil’s plight.

Everything that is hidden,

will be visible one day;

so we need be wise in life,

and use care with what we say.

Make the most of each new day,

and understand the Lord’s will;

don’t give in to drunkenness,

instead, seek His Spirit’s fill.

Speak to each other, sweet words,

that encourage weary hearts;

sing and make music to God,

for our everyday fresh start.

(Responding to Ephesians 5:8-20)

Dear Heavenly Father, thank You that Your loving light comes and dwells in us, not when we are “good enough”, but whenever we choose to invite You in.  Thank You that You do not call the “qualified”, but You qualify the called. (all who trust in You!)  Forgive us for allowing our focus anywhere other than You, and help us to expose anything hidden in our hearts so that You may bring healing.  Help us to heed the wisdom and warnings You provide, and may we make the most of each moment we are given.  May our words and deeds demonstrate Your great love to those who are lacking, and may many come to live in Your light as a result.  All glory and honor to You, God.  Amen.

He Qualifies the Called

“But the Lord said to Ananias, ‘Go!  This man is my chosen instrument to carry my Name before the Gentiles and their kings and before the people of Israel.” – Acts 9:15

photo by Andrew Schultz

These words were spoken of Saul, a zealous Jewish leader who had been arresting and persecuting the followers of Christ.  God of heaven and earth saw beyond the sin of this murderous man, and chose to meet him in such a powerful way, that Saul soon spoke boldly on our Beloved’s behalf, and fearlessly stared suffering in the face.

I am again reminded that God does not call the qualified, rather He qualifies the called.  You, me, we – each of us chosen and called by name.  He has for us a plan and a purpose that is far beyond what our weary hearts could hope to hold.  (Jeremiah 29:11) Through His Spirit in us, He will accomplish greater things still; and He will turn and heal hearts with hope and wholeness from His holy hands.

He takes our trials and tests and turns them into testimonies.  All of our experiences, good or bad, can become tremendous testimonies that demonstrate the amazing grace and powerful presence of our loving Lord, to all those who are waiting to hear.  He knows each need, and He equips all of us who ask, with wisdom and insight to walk in His way and do His will.  He takes our willingness and uses it in wondrous ways.  He moves wherever we meet Him.

Dear Heavenly Father, thank You that You come and cleanse even the least of us, and equip and empower us to do Your will.  It is never something that we can muster in our own strength, rather it is by Your supernatural equipping, that what is needed might be accomplished.  Forgive us for our lack of faith, as we falter and view our failures as stumbling blocks rather than the stepping stones that You have laid to lead to those in desperate need of Your nearness.  Thank You that You turn our tests into testimonies, as You alone triumph over every trial.  Use us Lord, for the even greater things, so that many might come to know the goodness and grace that are granted in Your glorious Name when we draw near.  Amen.
