All That We Need

Lord, You are my portion and my cup of blessing; You hold my future. – (Psalm 16:5, HCSB)

Lord, You give me all that I need. You support me. You give me my share. – (Psalm 16:5, ERV)

You, Eternal One, are my sustenance and my life-giving cup. In that cup, You hold my future and my eternal riches. – (Psalm 16:5, VOICE)

God is good. He knows what we need and is faithful to provide. No matter what comes, He holds our future in His hands, and His plans for us are good. Though we may have to walk through valleys, He leads us back up to the mountaintops. May we ever seek the Lord in faith, trusting that He is good and that He will provide all that we need.

O Lord, You are good,

My portion always;

For You fill me up,

Throughout all my days.

You are my support,

The strength that I need;

Grace to keep going,

All peace that exceeds.

Beyond what’s hoped for,

God’s plans are divine;

Hope now and always,

His heart is for mine.

Lead us in Your love,

For Your love sustains;

Supplied forever,

As we praise Your Name.

Dear Heavenly Father, thank You that You are our Source and Supply, for You provide all that we need to navigate each day, now and forever. Forgive us for the times that we lose sight of Your goodness and grace. Teach us to trust in You in all things and at all times. Show us how to love those around us in ways that provide peace, comfort and strength. May many come into a lasting relationship with You. Be glorified O God, as we praise You for Your comfort and provision, and the overwhelming blessings we behold through the power of Your great love. Amen.

I say: The Lord is my portion, therefore I will put my hope in Him. – Lamentations 3:24

Keeping Close to Christ

The Lord is with you when you are with Him. If you seek Him, He will be found by you, but if you forsake Him, He will forsake you. – (2 Chronicles 15:2b)

When we stay close to God, we know His will and direction for our lives, and are granted the strength and endurance to walk it out according to His plans, rather than our own. However, if we turn from God and attempt to do things on our own, He allows us to wander in the wilderness, where we lack direction, support and sustenance. We are called to be invested in a body of believers in order to help keep us close to Christ. Our walking beside one another, should help guide our hearts and minds to hold fast to our Heavenly Father with fervor. May we keep company that points us to Christ, and choose to seek the Lord with all that we are.

The Lord will draw near,caught-in-awe-sylvia-carlton

when we choose seek Him;

He is present; found,

all hope enters in.

Yet if we forsake,

the God of all grace;

we’re left on our own,

to run this long race.

Let’s stick to seeking,

and investing well;

walking with others,

as we fend off hell.

Together as one,

with strength from the Lord;

all hope is assured,

through grace He affords.

So ever draw near,

keep seeking to find;

the Lord is faithful,

both body and mind.

Dear Heavenly Father, thank You that You are with us when we are with You. Thank You that when we seek You, we find You. Thank You that You call us to be in community that builds each other up in our pursuit of You, and can help one another keep on the path that You have placed before us. Forgive us for walking away from what we know to be Your will, or for disengaging from the community in which we have been called. Teach us to trust You more, so that we will be continually seeking more of You – with You in all things at all times. Lead us to love others in such a way that their hearts are drawn unto You. May many come into a lasting relationship with You. Be glorified O God, as we are with You, seeking You and investing in the body to which we have been called. Amen.

Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort. – 2 Corinthians 1:3

An Excellent Exchange

Cast your cares on the Lord and He will sustain you; He will never let the righteous fall. – (Psalm 55:22)

When we give our cares and concerns to Christ, He upholds us and supplies what we need as we need it. As we choose to give our heart to Him, we are considered right before Him, righteous in His eyes; and He will not let us fall. The Lord’s ability to sustain us, is not dependent on our concept of what Christ can or cannot do. We need only to run to Him, relying on who He is; our job is to trust that He is God and we are not. This space of trust, where we have exchanged our cares for His sustenance, is where we see the mighty movement of our Maker on our behalf. May we cast our every care upon the Lord, trusting that He will sustain us and keep us from falling, as He considers us righteous because we rely on Him.

Let us cast our cares,An Excellent Exchange

upon Christ the Lord;

for He shall sustain,

all strength He affords.

He’ll not let us fall,

for all who have come;

are seen as righteous,

made right by the Son.

No matter what comes,

give it all to God;

His love is greater,

than paths we must trod.

Dear Heavenly Father, thank You that we can cast our cares on You, and You sustain us. Thank You that You consider us righteous, and that You will not let us fall. Thank You that no matter what comes against us, You are for us, and You are far greater. Forgive us for not relying on You in all things, and teach us to trust You in such a way, that we would run to You regardless of what lies before us. Help us to hear Your still small voice that calls us to cast our cares upon You. Lead us to love others in such a way, that they too, will come to know just how faithful You are. May many enter into a lasting relationship with You. Be glorified O God, as we cast our cares upon You and trust You to sustain us and keep us from falling. Amen.
