Goodness and Peace Greet Us

Faithful love and truth will join together; righteousness and peace will embrace. – (Psalm 85:10, HCSB)

God’s love will come together with His faithful people. Goodness and peace will greet them with a kiss. – (Psalm 85:10, ERV)

Unfailing love and truth have met on their way; righteousness and peace have kissed one another. – (Psalm 85:10, VOICE)

Where God’s faithful love is present, so is the truth. In spaces where hearts are right with God, there is peace. When God’s love leads, truth, goodness and peace are found present. The thing about this is that we must be immersed and surrounded in God’s faithful love for truth to be made evident and peace to be present. May we ever seek the Lord to lead us in His love, so that His truth may be made known, and His goodness and peace be present in places it is not expected.

The goodness of God,

Is filled with His peace;

Found with love and truth,

For both bring release.

The truth sets us free,

From chains held by lies;

His love leads us on,

Goodness realized.

Keep trusting the Lord,

Rely on His love;

For there we find peace,

And goodness above.

Dear Heavenly Father, thank You that in You, love and truth are joined together, and goodness and peace are made clear. Forgive us for not turning to You to provide these things. Teach us to trust in You and invest time with You so that we come to know Your love, truth, peace and goodness for ourselves. Show us how to love those around us in ways that make Your heart clearly known. May many come into a lasting relationship with You. Be glorified O God, as we trust in Your unfailing love and hold fast to Your truth, ever aware of Your goodness and peace that is found in Your presence. Amen.

The Lord gives His people strength; the Lord blesses His people with peace. – Psalm 29:11

Goodness and Peace Gather

Faithful love and truth will join together; righteousness and peace will embrace. – (Psalm 85:10, HCSB)

God’s love will come together with His faithful people. Goodness and peace will greet them with a kiss. – (Psalm 85:10, ERV)

Unfailing love and truth have met on their way; righteousness and peace have kissed one another. – (Psalm 85:10, VOICE)

Where love and truth are found, righteousness and peace are present too. When we love and live in truth, we are living right and His peace is present within us. God is faithful to fill us with His goodness and love as we earnestly seek Him and pursue a life with Him leading. May we ever seek the Lord at the start of each new day, and trust Him to lead us in His love that fills us with truth, propels us along the right path, and surrounds us with His perfect peace, no matter what is going on around us.

Choose to seek the Lord,

He’s where love is found;

Faithful forever,

In Him, grace abounds.

He leads us in truth,

Shows us the right way;

Let us choose follow,

Throughout each new day.

It is in pursuit,

That we find His peace;

That settles our hearts,

God’s gracious release.

Dear Heavenly Father, thank You that as we seek You and Your ways, You fill us with love and truth, and lead us to walk in Your way as You fill us with Your peace. Forgive us for the times that we do not seek or we simply do not follow what we are supposed to do. Teach us to turn to You in trust and to listen to Your leading. Show us how to love those around us faithfully and with abundant grace. May many come into a lasting relationship with You. Be glorified O God, as we seek to follow after You and praise You for Your perfect peace that fills us. Amen.

Turn away from evil and do what is good; seek peace and pursue it. – Psalm 34:14

Present Pairings

Faithful love and truth will join together; righteousness and peace will embrace. – (Psalm 85:10 HCSB)

God’s love will come together with His faithful people. Goodness and peace will greet them with a kiss. – (Psalm 85:10, ERV)

Unfailing love and truth have met on their way; righteousness and peace have kissed one another. – (Psalm 85:10, VOICE)

As we choose to follow God and seek to love faithfully and walk in truth, righteousness and peace seem to be present. God is faithful to meet us wherever we are, yet I think we are better aware of His presence when we are seeking to live and love as we are called to do. Right now, weeks feel long and the presence of faithful love, goodness and peace are always welcome. In fact, I am certain that His love is what carries us on our longest and most difficult days. May we ever seek the Lord to lead us in His love and faithfulness, and give Him praise for His goodness and peace.

God’s unfailing love,

And truth are a pair;

Together they’re found,

In joy and despair.

His goodness and peace,

Embrace each other;

So each is made known,

One to another.

As we walk His way,

Extending His love;

We feel in fullness,

All these from above.

Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for Your goodness, righteousness, peace and faithful love. Thank You that all are available and accessible as we earnestly seek You. Forgive us for our lack of seeking or for the distractions that keep us from being aware of Your nearness. Teach us to trust and rely on You in all things and at all times. Lead us in Your faithful love, so that we love one another as You do. May many come into a lasting relationship with You. Be glorified O God, as we faithfully seek and follow after You. Amen.

You will keep the mind that is dependent on You in perfect peace, for it is trusting in You. – Isaiah 26:3

He Speaks Peace

I listen carefully to what God The Lord is saying, for He speaks peace to His faithful people. But let them not return to their foolish ways. – (Psalm 85:8, NLT)

If we are faithful to seek our Heavenly Father, He speaks, and people know His peace.  However, if we hear His words and do not allow them to take root in our hearts, we end up returning to our foolish ways. May we listen carefully to all that He’s speaking, and in His peace, stay the course to which He calls. Let us keep from returning to our former foolishness.
With hearts to listen,

 May we hear His peace;

For God is speaking,

To grant us release.

Keep our hearts in tune,

Forever in line;

So we don’t return,

To the land of “mine”.

Thank You for Your word,

Holy and divine;

That shows us the way,

Brings peace by design.

Dear Heavenly Father, thank You that You speak to those who pursue You. Thank You that Your message brings peace. Forgive us for returning to our former foolishness in thought, word or deed. Teach us to trust You more, so that we would rely on You to be our help and strength in all things. Show us how to love people in such a way that they may sense Your peace through us. May many come into a lasting relationship with You. Be glorified O God, as we listen carefully to what You are speaking to our hearts. Amen.

They will celebrate Your abundant goodness and joyfully sing of Your righteousness. – Psalm 145:7

Thankful for Goodness

Today, I am thankful that what we anticipate, is not what shall be – particularly when we seek to honor God in how we conduct ourselves in all things. On more than one occasion this week, I walked into situations that had made me uneasy prior to my entry, yet I entered having sought the Lord and His strength as I went. Each time, rather than the potential pitfall that I feared, God was faithful to meet me and was so very good and evident in each circumstance.

People on earth will be loyal to God, and God in heaven will be good to them. – (Psalm 85:11, ERV)

When we choose to trust in God and maintain our loyalty to Him, He moves in mighty and miraculous ways on our behalf. Sometimes we are aware immediately of His movement, and others times, it is only after we have walked away, that we can look back and recognize how evident His presence truly was. God is good all of the time. His goodness is not dependent on our faithfulness. I think we become acutely aware of Him and how He moves when our love and loyalty is securely placed in Him. May we give our whole heart unto the Lord, and trust in His goodness and grace.

May our loyalty,

be unto the Lord;

for in Him is found,

all grace He affords.

Our help and our hope,

in our time of need;

God is always good,

trust His light to lead.

In space of unrest,

His peace can come reign;

when He’s invited,

we will see true change.

Dear Heavenly Father, thank You that You are always good. Thank You that when we seek You and give our heart to You, You are faithful to us. Thank You that You meet us where we are, and are our help and our hope. Forgive us for fearing situations and circumstances that we cannot control – for You, O Lord, are ALWAYS in control. Teach us to trust You more, so that we would move forward fearlessly, trusting You to lead us every step of the way. Show us how to love others as You love us. May many come into a lasting relationship with You. Be glorified O God, as we give all of our loyalty unto You, and trust in Your goodness and grace. Amen.

Not that we are competent in ourselves to claim anything for ourselves, but our competence comes from God. – 2 Corinthians 3:5
