Thankful for Faithful Love

Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good; His faithful love endures forever. – (Psalm 106:1, HCSB)

Give thanks to the Lord because He is good! His faithful love will last forever! – (Psalm 106:1, ERV)

Praise the Eternal! Thank Him because He is good and His loyal love will never end. – (Psalm 106:1, VOICE)

One of the things that I am most grateful to God for is family. Today, as my sister celebrates another trip around the sun, I am overwhelmed with gratitude for the gift God gave me in my sister. Growing up, I had a built in best friend, and as an adult, I have a confidant and someone to be totally transparent with, without fear of judgment. Together, we have navigated some of the greatest celebrations and most trying circumstances that life can offer. When I ponder the loyal love of God, my sister (and our mom) are reminders of how He intended it to be.  May we ever give thanks to the Lord for His goodness and His faithful love that knows no end, and for the tangible examples of this love that He has given us in our lives.

All praise to the Lord,

For He is so good;

Loyal in His love,

Our hope understood.

Praise for the blessings,

Bestowed unto us;

Family, loved ones,

That love like Jesus.

Today, I give thanks,

For sister and friend;

A lifetime of love,

Good that knows no end.

Lord, bless my sister,

My favorite gift;

Keep her in Your care,

With blessings, uplift.

Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for Your goodness and Your faithful love. Thank You for the gift that You give us through friends and family that demonstrate Your love in tangible ways. Forgive us for taking these blessings for granted. Teach us to treasure the people whom You have placed in our lives to show us more of Your heart for us. Show us how to love well, all those around us, and may we uplift and encourage each with the faithful love that You give to us. May many come into a lasting relationship with You. Be glorified O God, as we praise You for Your love and faithfulness, and for the beautiful blessings that You bestow upon us through family and friends. Amen.

Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good; His faithful love endures forever. – 1 Chronicles 16:34

Act Justly and Do Good

Blessed are those who act justly, who always do what is right. – (Psalm 106:3, NIV)

Those who obey His commands are happy. They do good things all the time. – (Psalm 106:3, ERV)

The happiest one on earth is the one who keeps Your word and clings to righteousness every moment. – (Psalm 106:3, TPT)

When we act justly and do what is right, there is joy in knowing that we have carried out the will of God. Our obedience brings happiness, as we discover what it is to know God’s pleasure. He loves us no matter what, yet knowing He is pleased with our words, thoughts and actions brings blessing to the depth of our being. The more we seek the Lord, the more equipped we are to know what is right and just. As we ask, He is faithful to answer and show us what it is to act justly and to do good at all times. We are all a work in progress. No one gets it right 100% of the time, yet those who are actively seeking wisdom and grace, find joy in choosing well. May we ever seek the Lord to lead us to act justly and do what is right, each new day that we draw breath.

True happiness comes,

As we freely choose;

Justice and mercy,

Proof of God’s good news.

When we choose what’s right,

God’s pleasure is known;

Our hearts find blessing,

As goodness is shown.

So, seek the Father,

Act justly, choose right;

In everything,

Choose to be His light.

Dear Heavenly Father, thank You that You remind us of the happiness our heart will hold when we act justly and do what is good in Your eyes. Forgive us for the times that we have been unjust, unkind, or negligent in doing what You have called us to do. Teach us to trust You always; for You alone are good and faithful. Show us how to love those around us through acting justly and doing good. May many come into a lasting relationship with You. Be glorified O God, as we praise You for who You are and how You love us all. Amen.

Human, the Lord has told you what goodness is. This is what He wants from you: Be fair to other people. Love kindness and loyalty, and humbly obey your God. – Micah 6:8

Praise as Majesty Moves

Who can list the glorious miracles of the Lord? Who can ever praise Him enough? – (Psalm 106:2, NLT)

No one can describe how great the Lord really is. No one can praise Him enough. – (Psalm 106:2, ERV)

Keeping proper perspective in the constant chaos that so often accompanies this time of year is critical. Though all of the activities and festivities are fabulous, that which matters most is our intentional pause to remember the reason for the season. There were a myriad of miracles that took place surrounding the arrival of Christ. A virgin birth, a bright star to show the way, numerous angelic visitations, shepherds serenaded and informed by heavenly hosts, wise men traveling from distant lands to bring gifts, and the list continues… God is so much more than a baby in a manger. That baby grew and healed the downtrodden, the outcast, the sinner and the sick, so that all might come to know Him. More than that, He bore the weight of all of our sin so that we could be in relationship with Him forever. There are not enough words, and not enough time to offer Him the praise He is due. The best that we can do is honor Him with our words and deeds, and extend love and life in tangible and practical ways to those around us. May we seek to honor the Lord in all that we do, so that our very lives are an expression of praise unto Him.

Who could ever list,The story of Christmas metaphor represented by a manger and crown of thorns.

The glories of God?

For His miracles,

Too vast and too broad.

Who could offer praise,

That would be enough?

The greatness of God,

Whose love covers us.

So let us go forth,

May our lives bring praise;

As we recognize,

The Ancient of Days.

Dear Heavenly Father, thank You that Your miracles are far too numerous for us to list, and the praise You deserve extends far beyond what we could ever offer. Thank You that You love us where we are, and lead us where we are meant to go. Forgive us for not slowing down in the chaos of the season to really fix our eyes and hearts on You. Teach us to intentionally focus our gaze on You in all things and at all times, so that we may recognize Your miraculous in the everyday, and offer You praise through how we walk out our days. Show us how to love those around us in a way that glorifies You. May many come into a lasting relationship with You. Be glorified O God, as we recognize Your majesty on the move, and give You praise for all of our days. Amen.

When times are good, be happy. – Ecclesiastes 7:14

To List and Praise

Who can list the glorious miracles of the Lord? Who can ever praise Him enough? – (Psalm 106:2, NLT)

It is good to take pause and recognize the truth of the words of this verse. When I look at my life, even over the past year, I am in awe of all that the Lord has done. He has provided abundantly and exceedingly more than I could have asked for, He has cared well for my family, He has loved and encouraged me well, and provided community that has become extended family where it was needed most. That is just scratching the surface. To list everything from each day, would be impossible; not to mention the wonders I have had the privilege of witnessing in the lives of those around me. There is not enough time in the day nor breath in my lungs to give the Lord the praise He is due. May our lives be led in such a way that a posture of praise permeates from our presence as we travel the path on which we have been placed.

For who can give count,IMG_2487

Of all God has done?

The great miracles,

New life in His Son.

There is not enough,

Time or enough space;

To give to the Lord,

Ample proper praise.

So let us rejoice,

Choose lift up our lives;

May all that we do,

Let His love light shine.

Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for the glorious miracles that You do in our lives day in and day out. Thank You that You love us exceedingly more than we could hope or imagine. Forgive us for not recognizing all that You are and all that You do, and for not giving proper praise unto You. Teach us to trust You more, so that we would seek You and acknowledge You in all things and at all times, giving thanks for Your goodness and grace. Show us how to love others well, so that they may see the mighty miracles of You all around us. May many come into a lasting relationship with You. Be glorified O God, as we seek to give You praise for all that You are and all that You do. Amen.

Surely goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever. – Psalm 23:6

Thanks for the Rain

Praise the Lord! Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good! His faithful love endures forever. – (Psalm 106:1, NLT)

God’s love is steady, reliable, trustworthy, true to what He has promised, and will never come to an end. There is no goodness in existence that can be compared to God. In those moments when my mind holds fast to the truth that I trust, I cannot help but give thanks and praise unto Him. God places incredible people along our path, but all are flawed and fall short. Only Christ never fails. His faithful love endures forever. He will never leave us nor forsake us, and we can place all of our trust in Him. May we thank and praise our precious Savior for who He is, and for the faithful love that He gives to all who call on His Name.

Praise our precious Lord,No Matter What Comes

all thanks unto Him;

for His faithfulness,

shall not come to end.

Forever endures,

the love of the Lord;

this truth we can trust,

all grace He affords.

The Lord is our hope,

even in despair;

He shall never leave,

He’s always aware.

Praise Him in the storm,

give thanks for the rain;

as He holds our heart,

in both joy and pain.

Dear Heavenly Father, thank You that You are good. Thank You that Your faithful love will last forever. Thank You that no matter what comes, You remain. Forgive us for not trusting or holding fast to Your truth when storms rage around us, and help us to trust in You and Your faithful love that endures for all time. Teach us to praise You in all things and at all times, not for what we see, but for who You are. Lead us to love others with a love that endures like Yours. May many come into a lasting relationship with You. Be glorified O God, as we praise You and give You thanks because You are good and Your faithful love endures forever. Amen.
