Strength to the Seeking

Look to the Lord and His strength; seek His face always. – (Psalm 105:4, NIV)

Depend on the Lord for strength. Always go to Him for help. – (Psalm 105:4, ERV)

Pursue the Lord and His strength; seek His face always! – (Psalm 105:4, CEB)

Some days are more challenging than others to get moving. Yesterday afternoon, during fourth period, I started getting congested and my throat began to be a bit sore. Thankfully, I had some throat lozenges in my desk drawer, and was fine the remainder of the school day. Our usual afternoon run still took place, and our time is continuing to improve on the shorter maintenance runs. The remainder of the evening went well, with only an inkling of scratchiness in my throat. Sleep was a bit rough, but I woke on time. This morning, I am recognizing my need for the Lord and His strength, as the day is scheduled full of meetings after students leave campus for early dismissal. The blessing in this is that I will have ninety less minutes of time that I will be expected to be in charge and speaking, and do not have anything scheduled this evening, so an early bedtime is entirely possible. God is good, and He is faithful to strengthen and sustain us when we seek Him.

Yesterday, when I spoke with mom on the phone, she was relaxing and watching a movie, as she had participated in two different in-home therapy sessions, and was worn out in the very best way. It is such an encouragement to hear the delight in her voice, knowing that she is pleased to be stretched and challenged and pushed to further pursue the path on her recovery. May the Lord continue to be her strength as she ever seeks Him.

When weary and worn, Anchor with Compass Engraving Illustration

And all strength seems gone;

Depend on the Lord,

For He makes us strong.

Strength to the seeking,

Covered by His grace;

Help to continue,

Throughout all our days.

So, turn to the Lord,

With love and by faith;

He’ll grant what we need,

To live well each day.

Dear Heavenly Father, thank You that when we seek You, You meet us where we are and provide the strength we need to navigate each new day. Thank You that we can trust in You to supply whatever we are lacking. Forgive us for not turning to You first. Show us how to love those around us well, so that we extend help and hope that strengthens others in the spaces where they are weary and worn. May many come into a lasting relationship with You. Be glorified O God, as we seek You to be our strength and praise You for Your faithfulness. Amen.

He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. – Isaiah 40:29

Pursuing Our Provider

Look to the Lord and His strength; seek His face always. – (Psalm 105:4, NIV)

Depend on the Lord for strength. Always go to Him for help. – (Psalm 105:4, ERV)

Search for the Lord and His strength; continually seek Him. – (Psalm 105:4, NLT)

Look to, depend on, and search for the Lord and His strength, are perfect reminders of our need to pursue our Provider in this season of busy that can leave us feeling depleted. God is faithful to meet us as we seek Him. His love never fails. These are important reminders, as this week, the last before Spring Break, seems to be the longest of the year. May we ever look to the Lord for strength, depend on Him to be present, and search for Him, as He will be found by the seeking.

When weary and worn, Healed Hands Reach Out

I look to the Lord;

For in Him I find,

His strength, He’ll outpour.

God’s goodness and grace,

Meet me in this space;

He renews resolve,

Throughout all my days.

Resolve to press on,

Keep going as called;

Presence and His peace,

By grace, He installs.

Dear Heavenly Father, thank You that as we look to You, depend on You and search for You, You meet us in our need and supply what we are lacking. Thank You for Your strength when ours has run out. Forgive us for allowing weariness to drag us down. Teach us to trust You more, as You provide Your rest at the perfect time. Show us how to love and strengthen those around us, so they may be ever aware of Your goodness and grace. May many come into a lasting relationship with You. Be glorified O God, as we pursue You and Your provision to carry us when we feel depleted. Amen.

Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. – Proverbs 3:5

Action to Attain Strength

Look to the Lord and His strength; seek His face always. – (Psalm 105:4, NIV)

Search for the Lord and His strength; continually seek Him. – (Psalm 105:4, NLT)

Depend on the Lord for strength. Always go to Him for help. – (Psalm 105:4, ERV)

Pursue the Lord and His strength; seek His face always! – (Psalm 105:4, CEB)

God’s strength is more than enough for all that we need, no matter what we face. However, this verse reminds us in four different ways that it requires action on our part. We must look to the Lord, search for Him, depend on the Lord and pursue Him, ever seeking Him for help. Though the Lord is gracious and kind, He wants us to actively participate in our pursuit of Him and His strength. In His kindness, God often provides people who point our hearts to Him in our spaces where we have stopped seeking. Again and again, the Lord shows us that He is for us and that His strength is available to all who seek Him. May we ever search for, depend on and pursue the Lord and His strength, for He is faithful to all who seek Him for help.

Let’s look to the Lord, Pardon Brings Peace

For He is our strength;

Ready to provide,

As we seek His path.

In good times and bad,

Let’s always choose seek;

For He’s always there,

Grants strength when we’re weak.

He’s our Source of help,

On Whom we depend;

His love fills our lack,

Beginning to end.

Dear Heavenly Father, thank You that we can look to You, search for You, depend on You and pursue You for strength, ever seeking Your face. Thank You that as we seek You, we find You, and You supply the strength we need to navigate all of our days. Forgive us for the times that we have sat passively, hoping for things to change, rather than pursuing You and Your strength to know how to best proceed through our every circumstance. Teach us to trust You more, so that we would ever depend on You to be our strength. Show us how to love those around us in Your strength so that they too may come to depend on You. May many come into a lasting relationship with You. Be glorified O God, as we pursue You and Your strength each day that we draw breath. Amen.

Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort. – 2 Corinthians 1:3

Found in Our Seeking

Search for the Lord and for His strength; continually seek Him. – (Psalm 105:4, NLT)

Look to the Lord and His strength; seek His face always. – (Psalm 105:4, NIV)

Depend on the Lord for strength. Always go to Him for help. – (Psalm 105:4, ERV)

Pursue the Lord and His strength; seek His face always. – (Psalm 105:4, CEB)

David, in his recollection of God’s faithfulness, reminds us again of our need to take action in the pursuit of the Lord. We are not meant to sit stuck in our circumstances, rather it is our charge to search, pursue, look for, and depend upon the Lord for our strength. Our seeking His face is meant to be ongoing, not just a “go-to” in our trials. Daily, we ought to go to God, as He is our source of help and strength, and He never leaves us nor forsakes us. When we seek, we find; for He is waiting, patiently, for us to ask. God is gentle and kind, and will not force His way into our hearts and lives. As we invite Him, He shows up – mightily and miraculously. May we always seek the Lord, for He is the One on whom we can depend, and our true source of strength.

I searched for the Lord,Our Map and Our Guide

and He heard my cry;

met me in my need,

no hope was denied.

For He is our source,

of strength and of hope;

He’s with us through storms,

our sure safety rope.

As we choose pursue,

to seek the Lord’s face;

we find what we need,

in His loving grace.

Dear Heavenly Father, thank You that we can search for You and find You, when we seek Your face. Thank You that You are our source of strength and help, and that we can always come before You. Forgive us for not looking to You and Your strength in our struggles. Teach us to trust You more, so that we would pursue and depend on You in all things and at all times. Show us how to love others in such a way, that they come to understand that You are where our strength comes from, and that You are always available to the seeking. May many come into a lasting relationship with You. Be exalted O God, as we depend on You for strength, and continually seek You in all things. Amen.

Shout aloud and sing for joy. – Isaiah 12:6

Proclaim with Praise to All People

Give thanks to the Lord and proclaim His greatness. Let the whole world know what He has done. – (Psalm 105:1, NLT)

For His unfailing love, let us give thanks. As benefactors of life and breath and our very being, we have reason to proclaim the greatness of our God. There is only One who willingly bore the weight of our sin and shame, so that we could have new life in Him. Our cleansing through Christ’s sacrifice on the cross, is reason that we ought to go forth and freely share of the love that we have been given. May the whole world come to know what He has done, as we give thanks to the Lord and proclaim His greatness.

Give thanks to the Lord,OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

as we share His love;

proclaiming how great,

is our God above.

May the whole world know,

what the Lord has done;

to make way for us,

through His precious Son.

All that we’ve done wrong,

the Lord wipes away;

as He took our place,

in punishment’s stay.

Yet not even death,

could defeat our King;

He rose from the grave,

by power He brings.

The very same strength,

that brought Love to life;

dwells within our hearts,

as we let faith rise.

Dear Heavenly Father, we give all thanks to You and proclaim Your greatness. Help us to let the whole world know what You have done, for in You, we have life and breath and hope and a future. Forgive us for not giving thanks often enough, and for not speaking of just how great You are to all whom we encounter. Teach us to trust You more, so that our every word and deed would speak the truth of Your greatness before them. Lead us to love others with Your loving kindness. May many come into a lasting relationship with You. Be glorified O God, as we give thanks to You and proclaim Your greatness and the wonder of all that You have done before all the world. Amen.

Taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the man who takes refuge in Him. – Psalm 34:8

Give Thanks, Tell and Sing

Give thanks to the Lord and call out to Him! Tell the nations what He has done! Sing to Him; sing praises to Him. Tell about the amazing things He has done. – (Psalm 105:1-2, ERV)

As I prepare for my final day of the first week of this brand new school year, my heart is overflowing with gratitude. My anxiousness has been turned to enthusiasm, and my fear transformed to fuel for further learning and growing to better the experience for my students and myself. Each of these young lives who have walked into my classroom, have found a place in my heart. Their stories are only beginning to unfold, and I cannot wait to discover more and more of who they are, and what drives them to do their very best. Additionally, my own children have encountered the same sentiment from their teachers too. My colleagues are loving my boys well, and they feel safe and secure in each space. This, this is my reason to sing praise today. Among many other monumental things that He has done to care for my family and love us well, the blessings of a great beginning create a comfort in the hope of all that is yet to come. May we give God thanks and call on Him, telling of all the great things that He has done. May our very lives sing praise to Him, as we recognize the remarkable He continues to do in our lives.

May our hearts give thanks,Aquiring Armor

to the Lord most high;

for how He has loved,

all throughout our lives.

Tell all of the world,

of what He has done;

so they too may know,

the Most Holy One.

Let our praises ring,

as we lift our voice;

for the songs we sing,

should in Him, rejoice.

Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for Your faithfulness and love, and for the amazing things that You do in and through our lives. Thank You that we can call out to You, and You hear our every call. Forgive us for not giving You the glory that You deserve, as every good and perfect gift comes from You. Teach us to trust You more, so that our immediate response would be to give You thanks and to tell others of the great things that You have done in our lives. May our very lives sing continual praise unto You. Lead us to love others in such a way, that they too may come to know Your faithfulness and love for themselves. Be glorified O God, as we give You thanks and praise, and tell of all that You have done. Amen.

Looking to the Lord

Look to the Lord and His strength; seek His face always. – (Psalm 105:4)

It is easy to get ourselves worked up and on a wild goose chase when things are out of whack.  We wander to and fro, searching for solutions to solve the storm that can only be stilled by our Savior.  He calls us to look to Him and His strength, and to seek His face – ALWAYS.  It matters not whether times are great, or tumultuous; for He knows and He hears our every prayer.  When we choose to seek Him, we are keeping Christ in proper perspective in our lives, as He alone deserves the throne that is high and lifted up.  No matter what comes our way, may we look to the Lord and His strength; seeking His face always, as He is faithful to meet us each moment we choose to seek Him.

choose search high and low;
for that is futile,
as the good Lord knows.
He knows what we need,
before we choose ask;
and He’s ever near,
may we take to task.
As we seek His face,
He’s faithful to give;
the strength that we need,
to thrive as we live.
So, look to the Lord,
and seek Him always;
for He is so good,
for all of our days.

Strength to the Seeking

Look to the Lord and His strength; seek His face always. – (Psalm 105:4)

Strength is a funny thing; Jesus grants us what we need, as we need it, yet the sense of it rising up within us never seems to come until we set aside ourselves and seek to solely rely on Him. We are created to be relational. Not just relational with people, but with our Creator. In this fallen world, we need His wisdom, guidance and strength to navigate the ways in which we are meant to walk, daily. Be it in trial or in triumph, may we seek His face, and look to the Lord for His strength, so that we may honor Him all of our days.

Though we may have strength,Worry Versus Concern

of faith, might or heart;

without seeking God,

all will fall apart.

For we were designed,

purposed each to be;

in relationship,

with Jesus our King.

Let each day begin,

with seeking His face;

ask the Lord for strength,

and receive His grace.

Dear Heavenly Father, thank You that we can seek You and find You always. Thank You that You are our Source of strength, and that You grant us all we need as we choose to rely on You. Thank You that You created us to be in relationship with You, and that You made the way for us to enter into a relationship with You that remains forever. Forgive us for trying to rely on our own strength, or for not seeking You in all things and at all times. Teach us to make it a new normal in our operating throughout our days. May many come to know You as we love others as You love us. Be glorified as we live, love and serve in Your strength. Amen.
