Unchanging Goodness

But You remain the same, and Your years will never end. – (Psalm 102:27, NIV)

But You never change. You will live forever! – (Psalm 102:27, ERV)

But You are the same, You will never change; Your years will never come to an end. – (Psalm 102:27, VOICE)

God is the same yesterday, today and forever. The same God who led His people through the sea He parted to create a safe escape, is the same God who sent His one and only Son to redeem us from our sin. He sits on the throne and hears our cries, and loves us through all things. A place is prepared for all who trust in Him to be with Him forever. No matter what we face or have to endure, God remains faithful and present to see us through. Beyond what He has done and is doing, we have a hope for all eternity. May we navigate our days with the recognition of God’s presence, and the hope we have not just for today, but forever.

The Lord is so good,

He always remains;

Unchanging, the same,

As love He proclaims.

God always has been,

Forever He’ll be;

Our help and our hope,

Love eternally.

May we place our trust,

In the Lord who reigns;

Forever faithful,

Choose trust in His Name.

Dear Heavenly Father, thank You that You have always been, are now, and forever will be. Thank You that Your love and faithfulness knows no end. Forgive us for the times that we have lost sight of who You are and how Your presence and strength provide what we need to press on. Teach us to trust You more, so that we would keep our eyes on eternity with You. Show us how to love those around us in ways that make Your goodness and faithfulness evident. May many come into a lasting relationship with You. Be glorified O God, as we praise You for Your faithfulness and trust in Your goodness and love forever. Amen.

For the word of the Lord is right and true; He is faithful in all He does. – Psalm 33:4

The Strength of His Love

Because God’s faithful love toward us is strong, the Lord’s faithfulness lasts forever! Praise the Lord! – (Psalm 117:2, CEB)

For great is His love toward us, and the faithfulness of the Lord endures forever. Praise the Lord. – (Psalm 117:2, NIV)

For He loves us very dearly, and His truth endures. Praise the Lord. – (Psalm 117:2, TLB)

Despite what we see or what we may feel, the Lord’s love for us lasts forever. His love is not dependent on what we do, but rather He loves because we are His. God is faithful forever and worthy of all of our praise. So often on the days that we choose to trust and praise, regardless of what we see, breakthrough comes and we become aware of the hand of God that has been moving all along. May we rise up and trust in His great love for us, as His faithfulness will remain forever.

For great is His love, Strong Heart

It’s faithful and true;

Forever endures,

For me and for you.

All that He’s promised,

Shall always remain;

We can lay hold of,

Truth His word proclaims.

For God’s faithfulness,

And His lasting love;

May we ever praise,

The Lord God above.

Dear Heavenly Father, thank You that Your faithful love toward us is strong and eternal. Thank You that Your faithfulness knows no end. Forgive us for failing to trust Your goodness when we cannot see evidence of You working in our circumstances. Teach us to trust You more, so that we will trust Your faithfulness, even when we cannot see how You are moving on our behalf. Show us how to love others in a way that lifts others up and gives strength and hope where it is lacking. May many come into a lasting relationship with You. Be glorified O God, as we give You all of our praise because You are faithful forever and Your truth never ends. Amen.

Let love and faithfulness never leave you; …write them on the tablet of your heart. – Proverbs 3:3

Not Defined by a Day

For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things He planned for us long ago. – (Ephesians 2:10, NLT)

For we are the product of His hand, heaven’s poetry etched on lives, created in the Anointed, Jesus, to accomplish the good works God arranged long ago. – (Ephesians 2:10, VOICE)

This is a very timely reminder for me. Yesterday, I felt nothing like a masterpiece nor product of heaven’s poetry, as something I had planned, prepared, and was invested in, fell flat when I needed it to go well. It is extra frustrating when the very thing that we have invested our time, energy and heart into, is well-received in some spaces, then not in another. What I have to remember is that one day does not define who He has called me to be, nor what He has called me to do. As the daughter of the King, I need to pick up my crown, dust it off, and stand tall, trusting that each new day is an opportunity to accomplish the good works that He has prepared for me. We are the product of His hands. He anoints us to accomplish good things. God gifts each of us to carry out the call that He has placed on our lives. Yes, there will be days that are not so poetic, but God is still seated on the throne. He makes us new, and equips us to do each and every next thing. May we rise up and remember to whom we belong, and trust Christ to help us learn from the less-than-fabulous days, and to forge forward in faith for all that lies ahead.

We are created,not-defined-by-a-day

God’s own masterpiece;

Made to do good things,

His love shall not cease.

We’re made new in Christ,

So we can go out;

Embrace what He gives,

And follow His route.

Even on bad days,

Christ shall remain near;

He picks us back up,

And makes His love clear.

Rise up dearly loved,

Remember your name;

You’re called masterpiece,

Our great God proclaims.

Dear Heavenly Father, thank You that we are Your masterpiece, even when we feel like nothing of the sort. Thank You that in Christ, we are made new, and have been created to do good things. Thank You that Your poetry is etched on our lives, even when we cannot see it. Forgive us for our fears and frustrations when things do not go according to our hopes or plans. Teach us to trust You more, so that we would embrace the opportunity to learn lessons from the lows, and celebrate that which You accomplish through us. Show us how to love those around us in a way that helps each individual we encounter feel valued and known. May many come into a lasting relationship with You. Be glorified O God, as we embrace the new creation that You have made us to be, and go forth to do the good that You call us to do. Amen.

Father, I thank You that You have heard me. – John 11:41

Our Sovereign Savior

Our Sovereign SaviorGod, our Creator,

dwells in hearts of man;

not in a building,

made by human hand.

He made land and sea,

from one man, made all;

determined the place,

each border would fall.

God gave with a choice,

yet that choice is plain;

if we look around,

creation proclaims.

It summons we seek,

and reach out for Him;

when we truly look,

He will enter in.

The Lord’s always near,

close as our next breath;

our life is in Him,

and hope after death.

For in Him we live,

and have our being;

empowered to move,

vision for seeing.

(Responding to Acts 17:24-28)

Dear Heavenly Father, thank You that You are sovereign over all, yet at the same time, You are close and personal.  Thank You that You love us so much, that You allow us to choose.  Thank You that You have always chosen us; that Your love for us is unending.  Thank You that there is evidence of You, all around us.  Forgive us for the times that we were silent when we should have spoken, and please birth in us, a new boldness for You.  Lead us in Your love, and let Your light be evident in all that we say and do.  May many come to know the sweet space of knowing You as their Savior.  Help us to have a heightened awareness of Your nearness today.  Amen.
