The joy of the Lord is your strength. – (Nehemiah 8:10, NIV)
3:30am arrived early this morning, yet I felt ready to embrace the day. I woke with joy and strength to take on the day, as I remember all that the Lord has done thus far. Though there are always a few butterflies about this first day of school, it is connected to a growing excitement to see all that He will do in the coming year. This is going to be a year of many new things, and I am eager to see what He has in store for my students, my community, my family, and for me, personally. May we each go forth in the joy of the Lord, for He will be our strength and the source of all that we need as we look to Him for help.
Let us each go forth,
With strength and with joy;
For the Lord provides,
All grace He employs.
Whatever we need,
Let us look to Him;
For He is our Source,
All strength from within.
When we choose to seek,
We always will find;
The Lord’s joy and strength,
To us, He assigns.
Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for Your joy that is our strength. Thank You that it is new every morning. Thank You that as we seek You, You are available and ever near. Forgive us for neglecting to seek You in our need. Teach us to trust You more, so that we would come before You in all things and at all times, trusting You to be the strength that we need. Show us how to love others in such a way, that the joy and strength You have given to us, benefits those around us, pointing them unto You. May many come into a lasting relationship with You. Be glorified O God, as we seek You to be our joy and strength as we go forth each new day. Amen.
