Demonstrate Gentleness

Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love. – (Ephesians 4:2, NIV)

Be humble and gentle. Be patient with each other, making allowance for each other’s faults because of your love. – (Ephesians 4:2, TLB)

With tender humility and quiet patience, always demonstrate gentleness and generous love toward one another, especially those who may try your patience. – (Ephesians 4:2, TPT)

This verse could be the motto of most classrooms across the country. Daily, it would be a reminder to ourselves to be gentle and patient, extending love, especially toward those who challenge our patience the most. I know this is true in most working environments as well. Each of us would benefit from both extending and receiving more kindness and grace, as we choose love over being right and kindness above returning insults, injuries or injustice that we feel has been given to us. People act out of their brokenness, and often when they receive what they know they do not deserve, (patience, gentleness, kindness, love…) it completely shifts their outlook, and their words and actions adjust as well.

In true humbleness;

Choose to love others,

In kindness, seek bless.

Forgive people’s faults,

As it’s proven true;

We all will fall short,

In need of grace too.

The hardest to love,

Oft need it the most;

In humility,

Choose give grace foremost.

Dear Heavenly Father, thank You that You loved us when we were the least loveable. Thank You that You continue to be patient, kind and full of grace. Forgive us for not extending the very things that we have so abundantly been given to those who need it the most. Teach us to trust You more to equip and empower us to respond in humility, patience and love, even when it is the opposite of what we would like to do. Show us how to love those around us in a way that helps them understand their infinite worth. May many come into a lasting relationship with You. Be glorified O God, as we seek to treat those around us with the same incredible loving kindness that You so abundantly give unto us. Amen.

Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. – Philippians 4:5

Love and Patience that Endure

May the Lord lead your hearts into a full understanding and expression of the love of God and the patient endurance that comes from Christ. – (2 Thessalonians 3:5, NLT)

May the Lord bring you into an even deeper understanding of the love of God and of the patience that comes from Christ. – (2 Thessalonians 3:5, TLB)

May the Master take you by the hand and lead you along the path of God’s love and Christ’s endurance. – (2 Thessalonians 3:5, MSG)

The love of God and the patient endurance of Christ are two things for which I am eternally grateful. When I am at my least loveable, God still demonstrates His love for me in tangible ways. I am shown patience that is willing to endure, despite the difficulties. In twenty-seven days, I will have the privilege and blessing of marrying the man whom God brought me, who shows me again and again and again, how fully I am loved, no matter how I come. He has patience and kindness toward me that seems to know no end. The more I pursue the Lord, the greater my understanding of His love and patience for us all. May we ever seek Him and grow in our grasp of God’s great love and the patient endurance that comes from Christ.

May the Lord’s great love,

Surround and sink in;

True understanding,

So peace may begin.

Let His patience too,

Come and overwhelm;

As goodness is grasped,

In God’s loving realm.

By grace let us seek,

So we come to know;

Love and endurance,

As in Christ we grow.

Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for Your goodness and grace and for the love and patient endurance that You demonstrate to us in tangible ways. Thank You for the people that You place in our lives to show us Your loving kindness and the depth of Your care for us all. Forgive us for not seeking You to understand more fully the depth of Your love and the patience and endurance that come from Christ. Show us how to love those around us with Your love and patient endurance. May many come into a lasting relationship with You. Be glorified O God, as we pursue the path that leads us to knowing You more and more. Amen.

You have made known to me the paths of life; You will fill me with joy in Your presence. – Acts 2:28

Greater Than All

The One who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world. – (1 John 4:4b, NIV)

For the Spirit in you is far stronger than anything in the world. – (1 John 4:4b, MSG)

The One who lives within you is greater than the one in the world. – (1 John 4:4b, VOICE)

When we know God, and trust Him to be Lord of our lives, we need not fear. The very same power that parted seas, overcame armies, healed the sick, brought the dead back to life, and resurrected Jesus from the grave on the third day, dwells in the hearts of all who believe. If God is for us, who can stand against us? Though trials and struggles will come, in Christ, we know the ultimate victory is His. Even when there seems to be no hope, in Him, we have hope that holds our hearts forever. He moves mountains where they seem impossible to be moved, takes down giants that seem unstoppable, and loves even the seemingly least loveable on earth. May we ever trust the One who dwells within us, for He is far greater than all that is in the world.

No matter what comes,Our Map and Our Guide

We can always call;

Trust God within us,

He’s greater than all.

For there is no fear,

In His perfect love;

He’s strong when we’re weak,

Our grace from above.

No, there is nothing,

Too heavy for Him;

He’s ready to help,

If we let Him in.

Dear Heavenly Father, thank You that Your Spirit within us is far greater than anything that would come against us. Thank You that You are for us, and that Your strength is made perfect in our weakness. Thank You that we can call on You and depend on You in all things and at all times. Forgive us for our fearfulness when the world seems overwhelming. Teach us to trust You more, so that we would remember who we are in You, and allow Your strength to rise. Show us how to walk out Your call according to Your plan so that we would love well, all those whom You have placed in our path. May many come into a lasting relationship with You. Be glorified O God, as we trust You and Your strength within us, no matter what we see standing before us. Amen.
