What shall I give to the King?

What shall I give to the One who has everything?

He needs not, yet desires each of us, individually, personally.

He wants our heart, our hope, and our will.

In return, He gives:

Peace in the places

where storms will rage.

Love and His light

despite the wars we wage.

Hope to hold onto

when the world seems bleak.

Strength and power

when we feel weak.

Grace that grants us

eternal life.

Forgiveness for all

our sinful strife.

Patience He provides

while we lie in wait.

Nearness made known

when we isolate.

Gentleness,

in the ruins of wrath.

Faithfulness,

that forever lasts.

Goodness where good

is all but gone.

Light in the promise

of the coming dawn.

As we rise up and seek our Savior, and celebrate our soon and coming King, may we honor Him with our very lives as we are found in Him.

Dear Heavenly Father,  thank You for all that You are and all that You do.  May our gift to You this Christmas, be our whole heart, our every hope, and our willingness to be available to do as You ask us to do.  Forgive us for being blind to the barriers we have set in the way, and break down every wall that hinders our hearts from whole-heartedly following You.  Lead us in love, so that we too might love as we are loved.  Let Your light in us shine brightly before all men, so that many may come to know You, the true source of love, light and life.  Amen.
