Protection and Strength

God is our protection and source of strength. He is always ready to help us in times of trouble. – (Psalm 46:1, ERV)

God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. – (Psalm 46:1, NIV)

No matter what comes our way, we have help, strength and safety when we trust in the Lord. He is always ready and available to be our help and supply the strength we need, and He will protect us in ways we would never imagine on our own. Safety and strength, help and hope – all come from God. May we seek Him to be our Source, and rely on His faithfulness to see us through.

Our place of refuge,Rest in the Rock

Our strength in the storm;

Help when there’s trouble,

His grace shall transform.

Always, He’s ready,

As Source and Supply;

To give help and strength,

He hears each heart cry.

So call on the Lord,

He is ever near;

To protect and give,

Strength to face each fear.

Dear Heavenly Father, thank You that You are our protection and source of strength. Thank You that You are always ready to help us in times of trouble. Thank You that we do not need to be afraid when trouble comes, as our hope is in You alone. Forgive us for our fearfulness and our lack of dependence on You. Teach us how to trust You more, so that we would seek You to be our Source in all things and at all times. Show us how to love others in a way that help them to see the strength and security that is found in You alone. May many enter into lasting relationships with You. Be glorified O God, as we trust You to be our protection and our source of strength in all things and at all times. Amen.

Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy. – Hebrews 4:16

Gratitude is Not Conditional

Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus. – (1 Thessalonians 5:18, NLT)

Give thanks to God no matter what circumstances you find yourself in. (This is God’s will for all of you in Jesus the Anointed.) – (1 Thessalonians 5:18, VOICE)

Gratitude is the attitude that should be ever present among believers. Though our circumstances may be less than stellar sometimes, we have the assurance that our ultimate outcome will be far greater than we can even begin to imagine. This hope that we hold is reason enough to be thankful at all times, regardless of what we are going through. Additionally, even when we walk through our darkest times, we are never alone. Christ comes near and remains present, granting us further reason to be thankful in all things. May we give thanks with a grateful heart, not necessarily for what we are going through, but for He who walks beside us, and gives us help and hope and strength to get to the other side.

No matter what comes,The Benefit of Broken Barriers

give thanks to the Lord;

not for circumstance,

but hope He affords.

For all in this life,

is but a season;

hope is eternal,

our thanking reason.

Let every heart,

rise up and give praise;

not for what we see,

but for the Lord’s ways.

In each circumstance,

know that the Lord’s near;

each cry of our heart,

is heard by His ear.

Thanks be to the Lord,

for now and always;

in each circumstance,

let us choose to praise.

Dear Heavenly Father, thank You that You are good, no matter what comes our way. Thank You that You goodness and faithfulness are not dependent on our circumstances. Thank You that when we belong to You, our hope is steadfast and secure forever. Forgive us for forgetting our reasons to give thanks in ALL things and at ALL times, despite the difficulties we endure. Teach us to trust You more, so that we would remember our reasons to give You thanks and praise, even when the things around us are less than ideal. Show us how to love others in a way that offers hope and help in the midst of challenging seasons, so that they may see the light of Your hope in us. May many come into a lasting relationship with You. Be exalted O God, as we give thanks to You no matter what circumstances we find ourselves in, for You are ALWAYS worthy of our thanks and praise. Amen.

Working Out His Will

For it is God who works in you to will and to act according to His good purpose. – (Philippians 2:13)

We are not on our own in the struggles and challenges of life. Christ in us, grants us the guidance to act according to His good and perfect will, if we are only willing to listen. He helps us desire to obey, and then empowers us to do just that. At times it is in the walking out what we know to be His purpose, that our desire grows, as does our trust in Him. The Lord takes our willingness, and turns it into opportunity to influence others for His glory. We must submit to Him to understand His will, so that we may walk it out with our lives. May we recognize God in us, as He is working to strengthen and empower us to act according to His good purpose.

It’s God within us,Overcoming Our Unbelief

working out His will;

the grace of Jesus,

ever-present still.

Through Him we may act,

in line with His good;

do what He’s asking,

obey as we should.

When we choose listen,

and to Christ submit;

His purpose fulfilled,

what’s broken is fixed.

Dear Heavenly Father, thank You that when we choose to submit to You, and allow You to be Lord of our life, You work in us and grant us the will to act according to Your good purpose for our lives. Thank You that it is not something that we can make happen on our own, but rather it is You in us, that grants us both the desire and the ability to do as You ask. Forgive us for attempting to muscle our way through things in our own strength, or for turning a deaf ear to what You are asking. Teach us to trust You more, so that we will seek Your will and Your strength, and then walk in obedience to all that You are asking. Lead us to love others well, through the strength and grace that You have given, rather than our own. May many come into a lasting relationship with You. Be glorified Lord God, as we trust You to work in us and through us to carry out Your good plans and purposes for our lives and the lives of those around us. Amen.
