And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds. – (Hebrews 10:24, NIV)

We should think about each other to see how we can encourage each other to show love and do good works. – (Hebrews 10:24, ERV)

Discover creative ways to encourage others and to motivate them toward acts of compassion, doing beautiful works as expressions of love. – (Hebrews 10:24, TPT)

I love that this biblical concept has been made tangible to many as people seek to “pay it forward.” One small spark of kindness, generosity or grace can set off an incredible chain reaction. The great thing is, we can love and encourage others through small and simple things. The Passions Translation tells us to “discover creative ways to encourage others and motivate them toward acts of compassion…” I so appreciate this, as some of the seemingly smallest acts of kindness have had the greatest and most lasting impact on me, as they often come when I have needed them most. It costs us nothing to choose to offer a kind and encouraging word or to reach out a helping hand to one we see in need – we simply must choose to extend what we have received to those around us. May we seek the Lord and listen to His leading, so that we may discover creative ways to encourage each other and extend acts of kindness to all.

Let us consider, Ambassadors of Love

How to choose love well;

Honor each other,

May our actions tell.

Tell of His goodness,

Extend hope and grace;

Each act of kindness,

Demonstrate His ways.

Choose seek discover,

To love and do good;

Compassion offered,

God’s grace understood.

Dear Heavenly Father, Thank You that though we do not deserve it, You come near and extend encouragement and compassion toward us in tangible ways. Thank You that You call us to look for ways to encourage and love one another as we reach out in ways that others can grasp. Forgive us for not always choosing words or ways to inspire those around us to greater love. Teach us to trust and rely on You to be our Source and Supply, so that we will encourage and motivate others toward compassion and acts of kindness. Show us how to love those around us in a way that spurs others toward love and good deeds. May many come into a lasting relationship with You. Be glorified O God, as we receive the love and encouragement that You offer to us and then go and give likewise to those around us. Amen.

The Lord is gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and rich in love. – Psalm 145:8

O Lord my God, I cried to You for help, and You restored my health. – (Psalm 30:2, NLT)

Lord my God, I prayed to You, and You healed me. – (Psalm 30:2, ERV)

I do not understand why some people are healed in an instant, while others continue to battle day in and day out with sickness and disease. What I do know is that God is able to heal, so my charge is to contend for those who are still fighting, as they wait for healing to come. I have witnessed both healing and heartache, and through it all, have seen the goodness of God. Today, as I learned of a dear one’s relapse in her battle against cancer, I will rise up with resolve to continue to contend on her behalf, just as she will fight with fervor. May His healing come quickly to those in the wait, and may each of us who know Him, be utilized to strengthen and encourage those who are fighting.

O Lord hear our cry, Faith in the Fight

As we choose contend;

For those in the fight,

Your healing, please send.

Each word we offer,

To You up in prayer;

Is heard and received,

As Your hope is shared.

Come near, Lord Jesus,

With Your healing hands;

Restore what’s broken,

May Your peace advance.

Dear Heavenly Father, we call out and contend for Your touch for those who are fighting sickness and disease. Thank You that You are our Help and our Healer. Thank You that You give us strength and sustain us in the fight, and that You can do abundantly more than we could hope or imagine. Forgive us for our fears and doubts, as it is difficult to see beyond a diagnosis or statistics. Teach us to trust You more, as You are greater than all. Show us how to love, support and encourage all those around us who are fighting for restoration. May many come into a lasting relationship with You. Be glorified O God, as we cry to You for help, and trust You to bring healing. Amen.

May God Almighty grant you mercy. – Genesis 43:14

Then Jesus said, “Come to Me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest.” -(Matthew 11:28, NLT)

Jesus invites us to come close when we are weary and worn. He does not expect us to go and get our act together first, but rather He has us come to Him, as He stands beside us and is our place to find rest. Peace comes in His presence, and He has a powerful way of pointing out what matters, and what we are no longer meant to carry. Christ does not ask us to take on the weight of the world, rather He holds us up and gives us the help that is needed to do that which He is calling us to do. May we earnestly seek Him, whether we feel burdened or blessed, and allow the Lord to be our perfect place of rest.
                                                                                                                                                        When heaviness comes,

 And burdens too much;

Go straight to the Lord,

His heart is to touch.

He’ll touch the heavy,

And make it seem light;

He’ll lift the weary,

It is His delight.

Our loving Savior,

Calls us to come near;

Despite heaviness,

Our struggles or fear.

Praise the Lord Jesus,

For strength when we’re weak;

Praise Him for all hope,

For all whom choose seek.

Dear Heavenly Father, thank You that when we are weary and burdened You don’t expect us to go and get our act together and then come to You, but rather You invite us in our sorriest state to simply come, and You offer Your rest. Thank You that You meet us where we are at and You love us big. Forgive us for thinking that our burdens are ours to bear alone. Teach us to trust You more so that we would come to You always, trusting that You will supply the strength, rest and wisdom we need to carry what we ought to, rest from our weariness, and wisdom to know what we are no longer meant to carry. Show us how to come alongside others and love as You love. May many come into a lasting relationship with You. Be exalted O God, as we come to You no matter our condition, trusting that You will grant us rest. Amen.
