We Give You Thanks

Now, our God, we give You thanks, and praise Your glorious name. – (1 Chronicles 29:13, NIV)

Now, our God, we thank You, and we praise Your glorious name! – (1 Chronicles 29:13, ERV)

And here we are, O God, our God, giving thanks to You, praising Your splendid Name. – (1 Chronicles 29:13, MSG)

This morning, as we prepare to make the journey to gather with loved ones to give thanks, I cannot help but reflect on the many reasons I have to be thankful this season. Even in times of uncertainty in some areas, God is moving and blessing in others. There is ever an ebb and flow as He challenges and grows us into the best possible versions of ourselves. Though God does not cause sickness nor harm to come to people, He does take the ugly in it and use it for something good. For our family, the initial horror and following battle brought on by mom’s stroke last spring, has brought us all together even closer, and created in each of us, more patience, gentleness, perseverance and encouragement than ever was there before. God is good, even when the trials in life are not, and for that, we give God thanks and praise His glorious Name. May we ever hold fast to the truth of who God is and give Him proper praise and thanks, today and always.

All thanks be to God, Pleased with Good Plans

May we praise His Name;

For He’s always good,

This truth we can claim.

Throughout each trial,

He’s faithful and true;

Present to meet us,

And help us get through.

Thanks be to the Lord,

May we give Him praise;

Today; forever,

Let our thanks be raised.

Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for the abundant blessings that You pour out upon us, and for how You love, strengthen and sustain us through all things. Thank You that You are always good, even when our circumstances are not. Forgive us for the times that we question Your presence when we struggle. Teach us to lean into You, as You never leave us nor forsake us. Show us how to love those around us in ways that make Your heart tangible as we love practically. May many come into a lasting relationship with You. Be glorified O God, as we praise You with thanksgiving on this day intended for giving thanks. Amen.

But as for me, it is good to be near God. I have made the Sovereign Lord my refuge; I will tell of all Your deeds. – Psalms 73:28
