How Harmony Happens

May God, who gives the patience and encouragement help you live in complete harmony with each other as is fitting for followers of Christ Jesus. – (Romans 15:5, NLT)

I pray that our God, who calls you and gives you perseverance and encouragement, will join all of you together to share one mind according to Jesus the Anointed. – (Romans 15:5, VOICE)

We are called to live as one body. The purpose that unites us ought to be our commitment to love God and love people as we have been commanded to do. Being humans with our own minds, we will never see eye-to-eye on everything with others. However, if we are choosing to love according to what is asked of us, a harmonious life with one another is possible through Christ. He gives patience and encouragement when ours wears thin, and shows us His heart for those around us if we only ask. May we seek the Lord and His love, so that we may be at peace with those around us.

Called as a body,

 To live well as one;

United purpose,

Reflecting the Son.

For if we love God,

And all those we see;

Together we’ll rise,

In Christ’s unity.

He gives us patience,

To choose persevere;

To love as He loves,

So His peace is near.

Dear Heavenly Father, thank You that You provide patience, encouragement and love so that we can live together as one in You, as the body of believers. Father forgive us for all that we do to destroy the harmony You intended among us, and give us Your eyes and heart for one another so that above all, we choose to love. Show us how to love like You in all things and at all times so that others may see Your peace present within us. May many come into a lasting relationship with You. Be glorified O God, as we seek You for all that we need to live in harmony as one body of believers. Amen.
