I Lift My Eyes

I Lift My EyesUnto the hills,

I lift my eyes;

for my help Source,

Who hears my cries.

My help alone,

comes from the Lord;

mighty Maker,

all hope afford.

He who keeps watch,

takes not a rest;

keeping secure,

those who invest.

By night and day,

He’s warmth and shade;

He lights our path,

and shows the way.

Secures our life,

for all our days;

present both now,

and for always.

(Responding to Psalm 121)

Dear Heavenly Father, thank You that You are our help and our hope, and that we need not look further than our next breath to know Your nearness. Thank You that You watch over us and remain with us, even when we feel unaware of Your presence. Thank You that You have a plan and a purpose for each of us, for however many days we have been granted. Help us to count each of them as a gift, so that we may use every day for Your glory. Forgive us for our shortsightedness; for the times that we struggle to see beyond our own situations. Birth in us the ability to see things through Your eyes, so that we may see struggles as opportunities for Your power to be shown, and our trust in the trials as a chance to make Your faithfulness known. May many come to know the reality of a relationship with You, our Redeemer, personally. Amen.
