Go Forth as God’s

We are God’s chosen,

called holy and loved,

be clothed in kindness,

gentle as a dove.

Carry compassion,

have humility;

be ever patient,

so Jesus is seen.

Bear with each other,

be quick to forgive;

begrudge no other,

we get as we give.

Above all these things,

love one another;

united as one,

sisters and brothers.

“Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience.  Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another.  Forgive as the Lord forgave you.  And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity.” – (Colossians 3:12-14)

Dear Heavenly Father, thank You that through the sacrifice of Your Son, Jesus, we all have access to be counted among Your chosen.  Thank You that once we have chosen to believe and receive all that You are, we become clean and covered in Christ.  Forgive us for not always operating accordingly, and teach us to trust You more, so that we may be compassionate, kind, humble, gentle and patient people, who are quick to forgive one another, and who choose to love, even when love is difficult.  May Your love in us that we live out, lead those who know You not, into everlasting life in You.  Amen.

  1. I like the emphasis in your prayer on choosing to trust, and choosing to love. It has to be a choice doesn’t it, as these things don’t always come naturally I find. Thanks for another beautiful message Shannon.
