Many are they,
who have not a voice;
be it age, lot,
circumstance or choice.
Trapped in the grip,
of hell’s ugly snare,
no way to stand,
with no one to care.
May it be so,
that we take a stand;
may we speak out,
return freedom’s land.
Speak up for those,
who are poor, in need;
speak for what’s right,
wage ware against greed.
“Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves, for the rights of all who are destitute. Speak up and judge fairly; defend the rights of the poor and needy.” – (Proverbs 31:8-9)
Dear Heavenly Father, thank You that because Your Spirit dwells in us, You grant us wisdom and ways to use our voice on behalf of those who are not heard. Lord, we lift up the orphans, the widows, the abused; the outcasts, the oppressed, and those who hear not good news. Forgive us for staying silent or standing idly by, and show each of us how we might use our voice to demonstrate Your love to those who feel so unlovable. Lead us Lord, in how You might want us to move – be it locally, nationally or globally, on Your behalf. May our voices echo the sound of Your loving kindness to the hurting and the hopeless, and may the hearts of oppressors repent and turn to You. May many lives be changed and souls be saved, as we take a stand to speak out for those without a voice. Amen.

Good one, Shannon!
Thank you, friend. 🙂
Great post, Shannon. I’ve been blessed!
Thanks so much, sweet Joseyphina! May the blessings continue all day long! ❤
Inspiring one! 🙂
He is faithful to inspire. 🙂
Very true. 🙂
Beautiful! 🙂
Thank you. 🙂
I know what it is to be voiceless – and I know how important these issues were to Jesus while He was here. You have hit upon the crux of the matter here…
Perhaps that is why your voice is so clear and powerful now as you write… Blessings to you, mighty voice after His own heart!
Shannon, you will never know how those words of affirmation have been able to stir my heart! Bless you!
Love this Shannon! We named our daughter Alexandra which means “defender of men”, and the verses you shared really sum up our prayer for her to be the voice to those who don’t have one, all in the name of Christ!
I love that Patricia! My prayer for our boys is similar, as Micah means “Godly warrior”, and Lucas means “bearer of light”. I too pray that they shed light on that which is not right and defend those who cannot defend themselves. Blessings to you and ongoing prayers for your beautiful Alexandra to grow into a mighty defender of men! ❤
And to your boys as well! 🙂 God bless you Shannon!
Grand writing and depth. xo
Thank you, Shannon, for standing in the gap for the silent ones among us. Blessings.
