Past the triumphant entry,
prior to the painful cross,
after He’d cleared the temple,
and left leaders at a loss.
In the midst of the scheming,
Christ kept His eyes fixed on God,
disciples still not hearing,
of the path He’d have to trod.
I imagine on this day,
How would Jesus take His throne?
When would He reveal His plan?
Despite the countless warnings;
The disciples could not see,
what the next few days would bring.
Perhaps a day of resting,
from their travels near and far.
Or time spent with Lazarus,
sweet scent of alabaster jar.
Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for Your word. Thank You for access to the record of what happened during the life, death and resurrection of Your Son for our sake. Thank You, Jesus, that though You are the Son of God, You came close and made Yourself approachable and available to all. Forgive us for forgetting how easily we may access You. May we approach You with respect and reverence, yet daily, fall more deeply in love with You. Let our love be what leads the lost to Your arms of grace. Amen.
