A Blameless Life

In Your holy presence,

who will be able to dwell?

The one who is blameless,

who lives upright as well.

How can a mere human,

so sinful and in need,

live upright before You?

Overwhelming, indeed.

Speak the truth from our heart,

without slanderous tongue.

Cast slur upon no one,

honor Father and Son.

Despise what is evil,

and love that which is good.

Keep every oath spoken,

and do all that we should.

Lend without usury,

accept never a bribe.

Let His Spirit lead us,

to our ultimate prize.

(Responding to Psalm 15)

Dear Heavenly Father, thank You that though the expectations for upright living would be impossible in our own strength, in You, we are equipped and empowered to walk in Your way and do Your will if we willingly submit ourselves to You.  Thank You that when You look at us, rather than seeing our sinful souls, You see us through the veil of Your Son, who lived a blameless and upright life all of His days, and died the death I deserved, in my place.  Forgive us for our stubborn independence, and teach us how to be wholly submitted to Your Spirit.  Lead us and guide us in all that we do and say, and through our obedience, may many find their way into a lasting relationship with You.  Amen.

  1. It always blows me away, and comforts me, to be reminded that God sees me through the veil of Jesus righteousness; even as I type this, I’m going, “Whew!” God bless you Shannon–love, sis Caddo
