The Know-How to Navigate

“Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light for my path.” – Psalm 119:105

Just as we need light to direct our path in the darkness so that we do not stumble and fall; so also do we need the light of His word, which is our instruction manual for right living.

As we take time to treasure in our hearts all of the joys and blessings that accompany this wonderful Christmas season, may we also anticipate with eager expectation, what He has for us in the coming year.  Whatever that “it” is for us as individuals, “it” will be more readily known and navigated if we are spending time in His word.  When we know His word, we better understand His heart.  As we better understand His heart, our own heart becomes better equipped to hear His.

For those of you who have been following for a while, I am pleased to pass on to you with praise, that the results from my MRI were perfectly normal, and the most recent medication that I have tried to treat my migraines, is working wonderfully!  At last, I

am feeling very much myself again.  Another blessing for those who have been following a while, is that baby Izzy, who was born on June 1st, five weeks prematurely, is thriving and quite a beauty.  In fact, the photo I am including is one from my most recent cuddle session with this little cutey!

Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for the great gift of Your word.  Thank You that as we study it, Your Holy Spirit teaches our hearts what You need us to know.  Thank You that You are our light in every darkness, and that in You, there is not even so much as a single shadow!  Help each of us to be intentional to invest our time with You, in Your word, and in a community of believers.  May we be transformed to reflect more clearly, Your light of love to those in darkness.  Light our path Lord, and teach us to trust so that we will walk boldly where You ask us to go.  May we do so joyfully, with words of worship in our heart.  Amen.

  1. I am so grateful that you are feeling better, Shannon.”… the results from my MRI were perfectly normal, and the most recent medication that I have tried to treat my migraines, is working wonderfully! At last, I am feeling very much myself again.” I have agonized along side my wife during some awful migraines. I am also grateful for your heart for God and your faith in Him to be with you through your trials. You are an inspiration to me and everyone who reads your heart on this blog.

    • Thanks so much, Steven. Your wife will be in my prayers, as it is such a life-sucking sort of pain. Blessings to you both this most wonderful time of year!

  2. Shannon, this is such wonderful, joyous news! My heart rejoices with yours. How truly wonderful that your faithfulness and trust in Him was rewarded with blessings. I pray the medication continues to work wonders for you, and you are able to enjoy every precious moment with your family.

    Love,
    Cara

    • Thank you Cara! It is truly a joy to feel like I have the capacity to really live and enjoy my life again, rather than press through and keep fighting. I pray that you too will be past the constant fighting in that place of pain-free freedom very soon! Blessings to you, Michael and your sweet fur child. 🙂
      Love,
      Shannon

  3. So glad you are feeling better and that the MRI cleared up the “what-ifs”. Praying for your complete healing (as I am reminded to do by the tyranny of the “what-ifs” in my life as well.) Shalom to you and your family.

  4. Awe… I missed it all somehow. Your baby is a doll and I’m thrilled your MRI came back negative. I had one done last year. I suffer from migraines as well and they’re worsening as I get older…

    • Thanks so much, Ines. The baby is my niece, as my hands are full with my twin ten-year-old boys. 🙂 I am so sorry that you suffer from migraines too. My prayers will be with you for healing and until then, a solution that brings relief.
      Blessings,
      Shannon

      • Thank you! You’re already in mine! Blessings!

  5. Glory to God!! No doubt that He is and always will be our healer! Thanks for sharing this news with all of us and as I continue to keep you in prayer, I hope you and yours enjoyed the best Christmas to date! 🙂

  6. Happy New year Shannon, Izzy is a sweetie for sure. I love babies so much that I had three of them. lol I read that you have migraines, so I had to share something which works W/O meds, aside from the poor title this is science, and not some mystic ‘what ever’ It changed my life in terms of headaches and sleeplessness and works every time i remember to use it.

Anyway 🙂 God bless you in the new year, and if you wish have a peek at my blog I am currently writing my 4th book there called The Rock.

    • I have bookmarked it and will try to remember to try it the next time it flares up a bit to see if it makes a difference. Thank you and God’s blessings to you and your loved ones as well! 🙂

      • Amen thank you Shannon 🙂 Honestly all you need is 15 minuted before bed, and it will make you sleep like a baby, the sound is very nice peaceful and relaxing

I have CFM, had it since childhood, when I was fervently in prayer one day I felt the Lord was telling me to google head trauma CFM, and when I did, after another year of stubbornness in not believing the Lord was showing this to me It worked a miracle for me the first try, and for the first night in many year I went to bed and slept all night.

  7. Thanks for letting me camp out in your blog for a little while today. I had a great time and tried to leave my campsite as good as when I arrived. I’ll be back!
