“And now, O Israel, what does the Lord your God ask of you but to fear the Lord your God, to walk in all His ways, to love Him, to serve the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul…” – Deuteronomy 10:12
God’s expectations for us are from the loving heart of our heavenly Father. His standards for us are high because He always has our very best in mind. When we love, serve and obey Him wholeheartedly, we come to know His peace, provision and presence in new and tangible ways.
Our loving Father does not only request these things, but He generously equips us to do as He asks. His word before us and His Spirit in us, are all that we need to walk in His ways and to serve only Him. As we see His provision, it is impossible to not recognize and revere just how great is our God. The more we move, the better we see Him. The better we see Him, the more deeply in love we fall. For how could we not love the One who first loved us?
Dear Heavenly Father, thank You that You only enlist us to that which You are willing to equip. Thank You that You do not ask and then leave us to our own devices to obey. Thank You for Your word that is a lamp unto our feet and a light unto our path, and for Your Spirit that stays in us once invited. Thank You for Your love that is so great that it stretches straight to our hearts from Your hands. May we bless and love others as You have loved us. Amen.
