“Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace to men on whom His favor rests.” – Luke 2:14
As God’s own angels greeted men, the words that were spoken were to give glory to He alone who is worthy of all praise. The next thing spoken was a message of peace and God’s favor for men on earth.
This is a remarkable reminder that our Redeemer is all about relationship. He created us to come into relationship with Him. He also gave us a free will so that we may choose whether or not we want that relationship. God could have made us creatures created only to call on Him, yet without the capacity to choose, we would not have the ability to love. Because He is love, He allows us to choose.
That being said, how can we as His created, not long to choose to come close to our Creator? He who hung the very stars in the sky, longs for us to live in loving relationship with Him. The King of all creation loves us, why would we possibly not want to love Him back?
As we love and follow after God’s own heart, we ought to remember that though He is love, He is also all-knowing and all-powerful. All of our worship belongs to Him and should be given in awe and wonder, recognizing and acknowledging the greatness of our God.
My praise is overwhelming gratitude for being granted the opportunity to choose. Daily, I again choose Him.
It is my prayer that He will continue to teach me to walk on the path that He has prepared for me, and that my heart might clearly hear His instruction. I long for my life to be lived as an ongoing act of worship to He who alone is worthy.
My heart’s cry is: May all that I say and do, bring glory, honor and praise to You. Amen.

Yes, we have a choice! Shannon, as I long to spend time with Him, through all the distractions, and chaos of the world. I find myself submitting deeper, and being so careful of my actions, and words. Not always easy to do, but with His help (grace), I am able to resubmit daily to Him. His Presence is always near to me, so daily I must choose His way! Many times my emotions try to get the best of me, but God says He understands, and sees my heart longing for Him, seeking Him, and standing with Him in truth ,and love. They say everyone has an opinion, but to me ,God’s opinion is the only one that matters here.
